Dale Farm in Essex, England, is thought to be Europe’s largest gypsy/Irish traveller site, and on 31 August is facing the violent eviction of its 1000 residents.
The site was legally bought eleven years ago, but the local council refused to give planning permission for a permanent traveller site. The council have been harassing the travellers on the site for the past ten years to try to evict them.
Everyone from the United Nations to the Catholic church has supported the travellers, (…)

Gays, God & The End of War
12 May 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
2 commentsViolence is the first refuge of the incompetent-Isaac Asimov
It’s almost unbelievable but the end is near for the U.S. military and quite possibly, the end of war. The gravity of the President’s recent decision to allow gays to openly serve in the military is beginning to sink in and most of those speaking out say that they will take early retirement or quit and they will advise their sons and daughters or grandchildren not to join the military. Some say that for every gay that joins up, (…) -
Questions Q&A won’t ask on taxpayer-funded Australian ABC TV about Australia, Zionism & Apartheid Israel
4 April 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
1 commentSince the US-backed anti-Whitlam Coup in 1975 that removed the elected reformist Whitlam Labor Goverment from office, Australia has steadily moved to the Right. The Australian Labor Party quickly realized that in US-dominated Murdochracy Australia (70% of city daily newspapers are part of the Murdoch media empire), getting elected would mean "all the way with the USA". Unfortunately, since the acquisition of nuclear weapons by Apartheid Israel in 1967, the US has come to be dominated by (…)

(video) The Republicans’ all-out war on women
3 March 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
Reports on the right’s latest assault—and the stirrings of resistance.
ANTI-CHOICE Republicans are waging an all-out attack on women’s right to abortion—in Congress, where the Republican-run House voted to strip funding from Planned Parenthood; and in individual states, where legislators are proposing bills so extreme that they could ban abortions altogether.
But supporters of abortion rights are starting to push back. Thousands took part in marches across the country on February 26, and (…) -
A Tale of Three Nations: Freedom, Religion and the Rights of Women
24 February 2011 par (Open-Publishing)
As the youth-led Freedom Movement of 2011 spreads rapidly across the Middle East and around the world, one can only wonder what would be happening in Iraq today if the U.S. had not invaded eight years ago. What does the movement portend for the rights of women in other nations, such as Tunisia and in the United States?
The rights of women continue to deteriorate in Iraq under the U.S. installed Shiite government; their status is now threatened by Islamists in Tunisia, the most secular of (…) -
Exposing White Terrorism in the USA

Did good ole white girl, Sarah Palin incite domestic terrorism according to the law? Sarah Palin put 20 Democratic members of Congress in her crosshairs, and Sarah Palin bragged that 18 are now gone, leaving Rep. Giffords and Rep. Nick Rahall of West Virginia. Hmmm, if she were Muslim, she’d be a Guantanamaran. Whiteness, a social construct and a source of privileges for whites around the world affords a spokes-model for white is right supremacy such as Palin, forms of free (…) -
Immigration, A Perennial Issue Of Concern In The U.S.
25 September 2010 par (Open-Publishing)
The issue of immigration was brought to the forefront recently by Arizona’s discriminatory immigration law SB 1070, which would require police and other public officials to ask all or any Latino looking people to show their ID’s. This demonstrates an attitude oriented towards criminalizing immigrants in general and a hostile outlook towards Hispanics in particular. The anti-immigrant attitude was also evident in Utah a few months ago when a list was published and widely distributed with (…)
